12 Best AI Course Creator Tools in 2026: Compared

Updated: October 27, 2026All articles

We compared 12 AI course creators on features, pricing, selling tools, and real limits. Find the right one for coaching, training, or teaching.

An illustration of an AI assistant generating an online course outline

Disclosure: This list is published by Mini Lessons Academy (MLA), which makes one of the tools on it. We put MLA first because we built it for a specific job, and we say plainly below where other tools do that job better, or do a different job. Every competitor fact on this page comes from that company's own website or help docs, checked on October 23 to 25, 2026. Prices change often, so check each official site before you buy.

AI course creators can speed up a first draft, but they do very different jobs. Some write a full course from your own documents. Some only suggest an outline. Some host and sell the course, and some don't sell at all. This guide explains the terms you'll see, the questions worth asking, and what each of 12 popular tools is built for, so you can pick the one that fits your situation.

If you already know your situation (coach, corporate trainer, teacher, expert, or agency), you can skip ahead to the buying guide by use case, near the end.

What is an AI course creator?

An AI course creator is software that drafts an online course for you: the outline, the lessons, and often quizzes, from a topic you type or material you upload. Some tools stop at the draft. Others also host the course, enroll students, and take payments. The tools on this list cover that whole range, so check which part of the job each one does before you compare prices.

Key terms in plain words

  • LMS (learning management system): software a company or school uses to assign courses to people and track who finished them. Moodle, Canvas, and Cornerstone are examples.
  • SCORM: a common file format for packaging a course so it runs inside almost any LMS. If your company or school uses an LMS, SCORM export is usually how you get a course into it.
  • xAPI: a newer standard than SCORM that can track more detail about what learners do.
  • LTI: a standard that connects a course tool to an LMS directly, without exporting files.
  • Course platform vs. course generator: a generator writes the course; a platform hosts it, enrolls students, and takes payments. Some tools do both.
  • Transaction fee (or commission): the percentage a platform keeps from each sale. Payment processors such as Stripe or PayPal charge their own separate fee.
  • White label: removing the platform's name and logo so the course shows only your brand.
  • Custom domain: your own web address for the course, such as courses.yourname.com.
  • Lead magnet: a free guide, checklist, or mini course you give away in exchange for an email address.
  • AI credits: a monthly allowance of AI use. Each generation uses some, and when they run out you wait or buy more.
  • AI avatar video: a video where a computer-generated presenter reads your script.
  • Upsells and order bumps: extra offers shown at checkout or after a purchase.
  • Flipbook: a digital document that pages like a printed book.
  • RTO: a Registered Training Organisation, Australia's term for an accredited vocational training provider.
  • SSO (single sign-on): letting staff log in with their existing company account.

How we evaluated

We looked at each tool against six questions that matter to a coach, expert, or small team building a course:

  1. Input types. What can you start from? A topic, or your own PDFs, docs, slides, or videos?
  2. What the AI actually builds. A full course with lessons and quizzes, an outline you still have to fill in, or something other than a course?
  3. Editing. Can you change every word, and can you ask the AI to revise sections?
  4. Selling and payments. Can you sell the course from the same tool, and what does the tool take from each sale?
  5. Pricing. Entry price, monthly vs. annual, free plan or trial, and usage limits.
  6. Ease of use. How much setup stands between you and a published course?

How we checked: We used each company's official pricing page, product pages, and help center, as of October 23 to 25, 2026. Where a fact wasn't published or the page couldn't be loaded, we say so instead of guessing.

Hands-on testing: Our team tested WithMe hands-on with a fresh signup, and those findings are labeled in its entry. The other tools were reviewed from their official sites only.

The tools after #1 are not ranked against each other. Each one is listed with the job it does best. Two of them, Designrr and WithMe, are not course generators in the usual sense, and we explain what they do instead.

Quick comparison table

Prices are list prices in USD as shown on each official site on October 23, 24, or 25, 2026. "Annual" means the per-month price when billed yearly.

1. Mini Lessons Academy (MLA)

Best for: coaches, consultants, and subject matter experts who want to turn what they already know, or material they've already written, into a course they can sell. Starting price: $35/mo (7-day free trial on monthly plans)

Mini Lessons Academy is an AI course creator that turns your expertise, documents, or videos into a finished online course, then hosts it and sells it for you with Stripe checkout built in. You can start from a short idea, or upload your PDFs, Word docs, slides, or a YouTube link. MLA builds a full course in about 90 seconds to 3 minutes. Larger topics take a little longer.

Mini Lessons Academy reports 100,000+ courses created and an 83%+ completion rate.

Key features

  • Upload PDFs, docs, slides, or a YouTube link, and MLA structures the course around your content. A "keep my document" import option keeps your words as written instead of rewriting them.
  • Lessons, quizzes (Quiz Command Center), exams with AI grading, speaker scripts, and course materials like workbooks and bonuses.
  • Every word is editable, and Canvas mode lets you ask for changes in plain language, like "make Module 2 warmer."
  • Ebooks, audiobooks with 8 to 25 studio voices by plan or your own cloned voice (Founders and up), picture books, lead magnets, and AI video (slideshow, presenter, and cinematic scenes), with monthly allowances by plan.
  • Video Clone: teach your lessons on camera without filming them, on every plan.
  • Stripe checkout, one-time sales, monthly and yearly subscription tiers, bundles, a storefront, auto-generated landing pages, and custom domains.
  • Email campaigns, plus AI Coach: nine AI marketing assistants that guide your marketing step by step (Founders and up).
  • SCORM 1.2 and 2004 export (Founders and up), plus workspaces and team seats.

Pros

  • Builds a full course from your own material and sells it from the same tool.
  • Hosting, checkout, landing pages, and email are included, so you don't need a second platform to sell.
  • Unlimited courses, ebooks, students, and landing pages on every plan.
  • The Legends plan has a 0% transaction fee.
  • 30-day money-back guarantee on every plan.

Cons

  • No free plan. There's a 7-day free trial on monthly plans only. Annual plans have no trial.
  • Transaction fee on lower plans: 5% on Hustlers and 2% on Founders, taken on top of Stripe's own processing fee.
  • Removing MLA branding, SCORM export, and voice cloning start on Founders ($75/mo).
  • Video, audiobook, and document-upload allowances are capped per month or per plan.
  • It's built for creators and small teams. Large organizations that need a full corporate LMS may prefer LearnWorlds or an enterprise LMS. MLA has no single sign-on (SSO) or LTI.

3. CourseAI

Best for: first-time creators starting from an idea who want a course and an email funnel drafted fast, with no commission on sales. Starting price: $19/mo (Starter)

Which CourseAI? This entry covers CourseAI at courseai.com, a standalone course creation tool. It is not courseai.co, a different product, and it is not the eSkilled AI Course Creator (entry 4), which also uses "Course AI" in its page titles.

CourseAI's own copy promises "From Idea to Income in 3 Steps." You type a one-sentence topic, or pick from AI-suggested niches, and it generates the modules, lesson content, quizzes, video scripts, and email copy. Its FAQ says you don't need prior expertise in the topic.

Key features

  • Start from a one-sentence topic ("a sentence is enough"), or from AI-suggested niches.
  • Generates modules, lesson content, quizzes, video scripts, and email copy.
  • Built-in hosting, student enrollment, and Stripe payments.
  • Email funnels and customizable landing pages.
  • "Every module, every lesson, every word is editable," with options to regenerate.
  • CourseAI says "the outline and first module are ready in under 2 minutes," and a full course with email funnels takes "under 10 minutes."

Pros

  • No commission: "you keep 100% of every dollar your students pay you."
  • The lowest paid entry price on this list.
  • Helps you pick a niche if you don't know what to teach yet.
  • Email funnel copy comes with the course.

Cons

  • Building a course from your own PDF or documents isn't confirmed; check the official site.
  • No AI video; you upload your own. AI voice-over is marked "Coming Soon."
  • SCORM export isn't confirmed (check the official site), and team seats or white label aren't mentioned on its site.
  • No free tier or free trial is confirmed; check the official site.
  • Refunds only "within your first 7 days after subscribing."

Pricing (USD, per courseai.com, checked Oct 25)

  • Starter: $19/mo
  • Pro: $49/mo
  • Expert: $249/mo
  • Yearly billing shown at "20% OFF"
  • Free tier or trial: none confirmed; check the official site

4. eSkilled AI Course Creator

Best for: Australian RTOs, schools, and workplace training teams building courses for their own learners from SOPs, learner guides, and units of competency. Starting price: $59/mo (USD, excluding tax)

What it is, and isn't: eSkilled AI Course Creator builds complete courses, but in its own words it's designed "for end users to create courses that their workplace, school, university, or RTO can use." It doesn't support selling to learners yet; eSkilled says "Agency" packages with selling features are a future plan.

eSkilled is an Australian company that makes learning and student management software for RTOs. Its AI Course Creator promises to "Build High-Quality Courses 100x Faster!"

Key features

  • Generate from prompts, or from Word, PDF, and PowerPoint reference documents, SOPs, learner guides, and units of competency (the official skill standards for Australian vocational qualifications) from training.gov.au.
  • Lessons, learning objectives, quizzes, case studies, and practical assessments.
  • Interactive activities: flip cards, image hotspots, scenarios.
  • Output in 80+ languages, tailored to region and audience.
  • An "eBot" AI assistant to expand, summarize, or bullet sections.
  • LTI connections to your LMS (1 / 2 / 3 by plan), and SCORM download on annual plans.

Pros

  • Building from units of competency is rare and useful for RTOs.
  • Practical assessments, case studies, and interactive activities on every plan.
  • 80+ output languages.
  • 14-day free trial.

Cons

  • No selling yet. You'd need a separate platform to sell a course.
  • Course caps of 50, 120, or 250 by plan, and drafts count toward the limit.
  • SCORM download is on annual plans only.
  • AI use runs on monthly credits (1.75M / 3.25M / 7.25M, no rollover), and uploaded reference documents use credits.
  • AI video is still "part of the development plan."

Pricing (USD, excluding tax; eSkilled sets prices in Australian dollars)

  • Starter: $59/mo or $637/yr
  • Maximize: $99/mo or $1,069/yr
  • Pro: $199/mo or $2,149/yr
  • Enterprise: custom
  • 14-day free trial

5. Mini Course Generator

Best for: short, interactive training courses for customers, partners, or staff, and small paid or lead-magnet courses. Starting price: $49/mo, or $39/mo billed annually

Mini Course Generator calls itself an "AI Course Creator for Interactive Training." Despite the name, it doesn't cap course length; "mini" describes its bite-sized page format.

Key features

  • Build from a topic, goals, and optional uploaded sources like PDFs and training manuals.
  • Full course content: lesson text, quizzes, flashcards, images, hotspots.
  • SCORM 1.2/2004 and PDF export (SCORM on Pro).
  • Paid courses with "no commissions or transaction fees."
  • Works inside ChatGPT through a plugin, and from Claude via MCP (a standard way for AI assistants to connect to other apps).

Pros

  • Builds full lesson content, not just an outline.
  • No platform cut of your sales.
  • Unlimited courses on both paid plans.

Cons

  • Learner caps per year (500 on Plus, 1,000 on Pro) are low if you plan to scale.
  • No free plan, only a 14-day trial.
  • The format is interactive text and quizzes rather than video lessons.

Pricing (USD, per minicoursegenerator.com/pricing, checked Oct 25)

  • Plus: $49/mo, or $39/mo billed annually
  • Pro: $99/mo, or $79/mo billed annually
  • Enterprise: custom
  • 14-day free trial, no card required

Official site: https://minicoursegenerator.com/pricing/

Best for: training businesses and course creators who need a full learning management system (LMS) with deep built-in AI. Starting price: $29/mo ($24/mo annual)

LearnWorlds calls itself "The #1 AI-powered LMS built for learning businesses." Its AI can build a full course with sections, activities, and content, or only an outline. You can feed it a prompt, uploaded files, a URL, pasted text, or an existing course.

Key features

  • AI course builder with settings for audience, tone, length, and interactivity.
  • AI tools for ebooks, exams, AI grading, interactive video, and subtitles.

Pros

  • The deepest AI course building among the traditional course platforms we checked.

  • Strong for organizations that train clients or employees.

Cons

  • The Starter plan charges $5 per paid enrollment, which adds up on low-priced courses.
  • AI runs on monthly credits (300 / 500 / 1,000 by plan), and LearnWorlds doesn't say how many credits a course uses.
  • There's a lot of platform to learn if you just want one course live.

Pricing (USD)

  • Starter: $29/mo ($24 annual)
  • Pro Trainer: $99/mo ($79 annual)
  • Learning Center: $299/mo ($249 annual)

Best for: creators who already have a finished course and want a simple, established place to host and sell it. Starting price: $39/mo ($29/mo annual)

Teachable's AI can turn a course description (up to 1,000 characters) into sections, lessons, and "sample content," plus a sales page. Teachable itself describes this as a way to get started, not a finished course.

Key features

  • "Generate with AI" outline and starter content on every plan.
  • AI quizzes, lesson summaries, subtitles, and translations into 70+ languages.
  • Teachable Payments checkout that handles sales tax and VAT, with 35+ local payment methods.

Pros

  • A long-established platform with reliable hosting and checkout.
  • Low entry price on annual billing.
  • 0% transaction fee on Builder and up when you use Teachable Payments.

Cons

Pricing (USD)

  • Starter: $39/mo ($29 annual)

9. Kajabi

Best for: established coaches and experts who want courses, email marketing, coaching, communities, and payments in one system. Starting price: $179/mo ($143/mo annual)

Kajabi calls itself "the operating system for human expertise." Its course wizard can generate modules and lessons along with a landing page, form, and email broadcast. Kajabi's help docs don't say whether it writes full lesson text. Its AI assistant, Cofounder, can draft course outlines, email copy, and sales page copy.

Key features

  • AI course structure plus a matching landing page, form, and email.
  • Cofounder AI assistant for outlines and marketing copy.
  • Built-in email marketing, automations, communities, coaching, and checkout.
  • Kajabi says it takes "no revenue sharing."

Pros

  • One connected system for products, payments, and marketing.
  • Strong email and automation tools.
  • Suits a business that's already selling and wants fewer tools.

Cons

  • The highest entry price on this list ($143/mo billed annually).
  • Kajabi's AI credits cover transcription, translation, and dubbing, not course generation.

  • If you only need a course built, you pay for a lot you may not use.

Pricing (USD)

  • Basic: $179/mo ($143 annual)
  • Growth: $249/mo ($199 annual)
  • Pro: $499/mo ($399 annual)

10. Mindsmith

Best for: instructional designers and L&D teams who build interactive eLearning and deliver it through their company's LMS. Starting price: free plan; paid from $39 per author/mo, billed annually

Mindsmith calls itself "the AI-native eLearning authoring tool." Its AI agent builds interactive lessons from your source material, and you deliver them by link, embed, or SCORM. It's an authoring tool: software for building eLearning that you then deliver through an LMS or a link, rather than a place to sell courses.

Key features

  • "Convert any document into eLearning": presentations, videos, course outlines, SME materials, and SOP documents.
  • Lessons tailored to your learning objectives, with quizzes (including short-answer questions with AI grading), branching scenarios, and real-time AI conversations.
  • Animated videos, custom AI avatars, flashcards, and AI images.
  • "Create in 70+ languages at once."
  • SCORM on Free, Professional, and Business; xAPI on Enterprise.

Pros

  • Free plan to test it, and learners are free.
  • Strong interactive formats (scenarios, AI role-play conversations) for workplace training.
  • SCORM export on every plan, including Free.
  • 30% off for educators.

Cons

  • No selling. Mindsmith's site doesn't mention checkout or payments, so you'd need a separate platform to sell a course.
  • Priced per author, so costs grow with team size.
  • AI use runs on credits: 450 one-time on Free, then 2,000 or 5,000 per author per month on paid plans.
  • Free-plan lessons carry a "Built with Mindsmith" badge.

Pricing (USD, per mindsmith.ai/pricing, checked Oct 25)

  • Free: $0 (450 one-time AI credits)
  • Professional: $39 per author/mo, billed annually ($468/yr)
  • Business: $65 per author/mo, billed annually ($780/yr)
  • Enterprise: custom
  • Monthly-billed prices: check the official site.

11. Designrr

Best for: creators who already have blog posts, PDFs, videos, or podcasts and want to repurpose them into ebooks, lead magnets, or flipbooks, often as a companion to a course hosted somewhere else. Starting price: $29/mo (Standard)

What it is, and isn't: Designrr is an AI ebook and lead-magnet maker, not a course builder. Its site describes it as a way to "Create eBooks, Kindle books, Leadmagnets, Flipbooks and Blog posts from your content in 2 minutes." We found no course hosting, student enrollment, quizzes, or course checkout. It's on this list because course creators often need a lead magnet or workbook alongside the course, and Designrr is built for that job.

Key features

  • Import from Word or Google Docs, PDFs, blog posts, and transcribed audio or video.
  • AI writing help for ebook content through WordGenie, with WordGenie Pro on higher tiers.
  • Templates for ebooks, Kindle books, lead magnets, and flipbooks.
  • PDF, Kindle, and ePub export on higher plans (which plan includes which export: check official site).

Pros

  • Fast way to turn existing content into a polished ebook or lead magnet.
  • Works from content you already have, including audio and video transcripts.
  • Pairs with any course platform.

Cons

  • Doesn't build or host courses. You'll still need a course platform.
  • Designrr runs promo and lifetime deals that vary, so the price you see may differ from the regular monthly plans listed below.
  • Some import and export formats (for example PDF import and Kindle export) appear to need a higher plan; check the official site for which plan includes them.

12. WithMe

Best for: creators with a social media following who want one hub to sell courses, coaching, memberships, and digital products. Starting price: $25/mo billed annually, or $49/mo billed monthly

What it is, and isn't: WithMe is a creator storefront with AI setup, not an AI course writer. You enter your social handle and its AI "builds your entire hub": the storefront, products, pricing, checkout, and launch copy. Course lessons themselves you build by hand, by adding chapters and uploading video, PDF, audio, text, or live streams. We found no feature that writes lesson content, and our hands-on test confirmed this.

Which WithMe? This entry covers WithMe at withme.so, the "All-in-One Creator Hub." We found no other AI course product by that name.

Key features

  • AI hub setup from your social handle: storefront, product pages, pricing, and launch copy.
  • Courses (paid, free, or bundled), coaching, memberships, communities, and digital products in one place.
  • Email marketing with automated sequences, plus custom domains and landing pages.
  • Lessons as video, image, PDF, audio, text, or live stream.
  • Optional "AI Team" agents, sold as a $99/month add-on.

From our hands-on test (a fresh WithMe signup by the Mini Lessons Academy team)

  • Onboarding: you claim a creator address, then a "Hub Launch Checklist" guides you through setup: customising your hub, adding your first product, and connecting payouts.
  • Course editor: lessons can be Video, Images, PDF, Audio, Text, or Live Stream. Lessons are built by hand; there is no AI that writes lesson content.
  • AI Team: the "AI Team" agents are a $99/month add-on, on top of the plan price.
  • What stood out: a strong business and selling setup, including the storefront, payments, Instagram automation, and a support agent.

Pros

  • 0% platform commission on sales (Stripe's processing fees still apply).
  • One place to sell several kinds of offers, not just courses.
  • Strong selling setup in our test: storefront, payments, Instagram automation, and a support agent.
  • 14-day free trial with no card required.

Cons

  • Doesn't write your course. You'll need to create the lesson content yourself, or in another tool.
  • $49/mo on monthly billing is above several tools here; the $25/mo price needs annual billing. WithMe changed its prices in August 2026, so older pages may show different figures.
  • No SCORM, quiz generation, or AI course tools mentioned.

Pricing (USD, per WithMe Help Center, "WithMe Pricing, Plans & Fees," https://help.withme.so/en/articles/14752181-withme-pricing-plans-fees-what-you-actually-pay, checked Oct 25; prices changed in August 2026)

Also worth knowing about

These tools also come up in "AI course creator" searches:

  • LearnDash: a WordPress plugin for hosting and selling courses on your own site. Its AI writes lesson titles only and needs your own OpenAI key. From $350 for 1 site.
  • Synthesia: AI avatar video for training. It makes videos, not full courses, and has no selling features.
  • Gamma: AI presentations and documents. Good for slide-style content, with no lessons, student tracking, or payments. See MLA vs Gamma.
  • ChatGPT or Claude: can outline and draft lessons for free or at low cost. You still need somewhere to host the course, take payments, and track students.

What AI still can't do for you

Every tool on this list saves time on the first draft. None of them removes these jobs:

  • Check the facts. AI drafts can be confidently wrong. Review every lesson, especially in health, money, or legal topics.
  • Add your stories and examples. That's what makes a course worth paying for. Tools that build from your own documents get closer, but you still need to read it through.
  • Decide the offer. Who the course is for, what it promises, and what it costs.
  • Find buyers. Landing pages and email tools help, but the audience is still yours to build.

How to choose: a buying guide by use case

Start with who your learners are and whether you'll sell to them. That one answer rules out several tools on this list. Then compare the two or three that remain on inputs, fees, and limits, and test each with one of your own documents during its free plan or trial.

Coaches

You want your method and your voice in the course, and a way to sell it to clients.

  • Look for: building from your own notes or documents, editing every word, and checkout built in.
  • Good fits: Mini Lessons Academy if you want the course built and sold from one place. Kajabi if you already run a larger business and want email, coaching, and community in one system. WithMe if you sell to a social following and will write the lessons yourself.
  • Watch out for: tools that only make an outline, and per-sale fees on lower plans.

Corporate training and L&D teams

You need consistent training, LMS compatibility, and often reporting.

  • Look for: SCORM or LTI export, team seats, quizzes and assessments, and multiple languages.
  • Good fits: Coursebox for AI video and AI tutoring. Mindsmith for interactive eLearning built by instructional designers. eSkilled AI Course Creator for Australian RTOs building from units of competency. LearnWorlds for a full LMS. Mini Lessons Academy if you want SCORM export (Founders and up) from courses built out of your existing SOPs and documents.
  • Watch out for: SCORM limits (some tools tie it to a plan level or to keeping a subscription active), and per-author pricing as your team grows.

Educators and teachers

You want structured lessons, quizzes, and materials, often without selling anything.

  • Look for: quiz and exam generation, lesson planning help, and export to your school's LMS.
  • Good fits: LearnWorlds, Mindsmith (30% educator discount), eSkilled AI Course Creator (for vocational training and RTOs), and Mini Lessons Academy (lesson-plan frameworks, quizzes, exams, SCORM).

Entrepreneurs and subject matter experts

You want to turn what you know into income quickly, without a tech stack.

  • Look for: a full course from your material, a sales page, checkout, and low setup.
  • Good fits: Mini Lessons Academy or Mini Course Generator for speed. CourseAI if you're starting from an idea rather than existing material, on a small budget. Teachable or Thinkific if your course is already made and you mainly need hosting. Designrr if you want an ebook or lead magnet from content you already have.

Agencies building courses for clients

  • Look for: separate workspaces per client, team seats, and white label.
  • Good fits: Mini Lessons Academy (workspaces and team seats; remove MLA branding on Founders and up), and Coursebox Pro + LMS for full white label.
  • See also: Best AI course creator for agencies.

Next steps

  1. Decide whether your learners are customers, staff, or students.
  2. Shortlist two or three tools from the "Best for" labels above.
  3. Use each tool's free plan or trial with the same document, and compare the drafts side by side.
  4. Check the full cost at the sales or team size you expect, including per-sale fees and metered limits.

If Mini Lessons Academy is on your shortlist, it has a 7-day free trial on monthly plans (annual plans have no trial) and a 30-day money-back guarantee on every plan. See pricing plans

Frequently asked questions

Can AI turn a PDF into an online course?

Yes. Several tools can build a course from a PDF you upload, including Mini Lessons Academy, Coursebox, eSkilled AI Course Creator, Mini Course Generator, LearnWorlds, and Mindsmith. The difference is what happens next. Some give you a draft to export to an LMS, while others, like MLA, also host and sell the finished course.

Check the upload limits before you choose. MLA allows 35 to 300 document uploads depending on plan, with files up to 50 to 200 MB. Coursebox accepts PDF, Word, and PowerPoint. Designrr turns a PDF into an ebook rather than a course. Teachable's and Kajabi's course generators work from a short text description instead of a file. CourseAI starts from a short topic; whether it builds from an uploaded PDF isn't confirmed, so check its official site.

What is the best AI course creator for coaches?

It depends on whether you need the course built, sold, or both. If you want to turn your own notes, worksheets, or talks into a course and sell it from one place, Mini Lessons Academy is built for that. If you already run a larger coaching business and want email, community, and coaching scheduling in one system, Kajabi is a strong fit, though it costs more.

Is there a free AI course creator?

A few tools have free plans with limits. Coursebox has a free plan for 3 small courses with a watermark, and it takes a 30% commission on sales made on that plan. Mindsmith has a free plan with 450 one-time AI credits and a Mindsmith badge. Most others, including Mini Lessons Academy, offer a free trial instead: MLA has a 7-day free trial on monthly plans (annual plans have no trial) and a 30-day money-back guarantee. eSkilled offers a 14-day trial.

You can also outline and draft lessons in a general AI chatbot for free. You'd still need a place to host the course and take payments.

Can I sell a course I made with AI?

Yes, as long as the content is accurate and you've reviewed it. Most course tools let you sell, but the fees differ. MLA charges 5%, 2%, or 0% per sale depending on plan. Teachable's Starter plan charges 7.5%. LearnWorlds Starter charges $5 per paid enrollment. Coursebox takes 30% on its Free plan and 0% on Creator and up. CourseAI, Mini Course Generator, and WithMe say they take no commission (WithMe: 0% platform commission, Stripe fees extra).

Mindsmith, Designrr, and eSkilled AI Course Creator (as of October 2026) don't sell courses, so you'd pair them with a course platform.

Will an AI-generated course sound like me?

It can, if you build it from your own material and edit it. Tools that start from a short prompt tend to produce generic text that needs heavy rewriting.

MLA builds from your uploaded documents and offers a "keep my document" import that keeps your words. Every tool on this list still expects you to review and edit before publishing.

How long does it take to create a course with AI?

The first draft takes minutes. MLA generates a full course in about 90 seconds to 3 minutes.

The real time goes into reviewing, adding your stories and examples, and setting up your sales page. Plan for a few focused sessions, not a few months.

Do people actually finish AI-built courses?

They can, if the course is well structured. Mini Lessons Academy reports an 83%+ completion rate across 100,000+ courses created. Short lessons, quizzes that check understanding, and a clear outcome for each module all help.

Which AI course creators export to SCORM?

Mini Lessons Academy (Founders plan and up), Coursebox (Creator and up), Mindsmith (every plan, including Free; xAPI on Enterprise), Mini Course Generator (Pro), eSkilled (annual plans only), and Synthesia (Enterprise, video only). SCORM lets you load a course into a company or school LMS like Moodle, Canvas, or Cornerstone.

What's the difference between an AI course generator and a course platform?

An AI course generator writes the course. A course platform hosts it, enrolls students, and takes payments. Some tools only generate (Mindsmith and eSkilled AI Course Creator, which you deliver through your own LMS). Some mostly host, with light AI help (Teachable, Thinkific, WithMe). A few do both, including Mini Lessons Academy, Coursebox, CourseAI, LearnWorlds, and Mini Course Generator. Designrr is a different category again: it makes ebooks and lead magnets.

Do I own the course content I create with AI?

Check each tool's terms. Mini Lessons Academy states that you own 100% of what you create, and you can export as PDF, DOCX, SCORM (Founders and up), or audio.
